Takdah is a beautiful Himalayan village located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It was a settlement of Lepcha’s during British India. Takdah is an unexplored, pleasant, and peaceful small village covered by forests. The original name was ‘Tukdah’, the meaning is mist or fog. It is situated 4000 ft above sea level and most of the time in winter covered by fog. A traveller can enjoy the beautiful foggy cold days here and also can walk for bird watching. There are many orange orchards very close in distance from Takdah. Darjeeling is 28 Kms from Takdah and it will take one and half hours to two hours by road from Darjeeling city.
