Kolbong is situated at an altitude of 4,189 ft. from sea level and under the subdivision of Kalimpong. It is one of the most peaceful villages in Darjeeling Himalayan region. Majorly the Nepalis community are in this village and it is the ideal destination for the solo traveler. One can stay at a lonely Himalayan village with a village walk is a different experience. From Kolbong one can visit the nearby places like Tinchuley, Rungli Runggiot Tea Estate, Orchid gardens, Tribbeni viewpoint, etc. many unexplored places. From Bagdogra airport or New Jalpai Railway station, it will take 3.5 to 4 hours time by road and it is very famous during the winter because of the orange plantation nearby Kolbong.
